David Collins was born in Luton.  He has lived and worked in the Chilterns all his life.  He is a Dacorum Borough and Berkhamsted Town Councillor representing Castle Ward.  He is Hertfordshire’s representative on the National Association of Local Councils.  He was town mayor for Berkhamsted from 2008 to 2010.

Before starting his own business ventures in 1986 he worked in the process control, automation and automotive sectors.  He established and managed his own company which developed into an international consulting group which provided market intelligence and strategy. Other businesses included electronic component distribution and assembly.

David enjoys walking.  He is a member of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, the Royal Horticultural Society and the National Trust.

He cares passionately about conserving the Chilterns for future generations.
