(about 4 miles north of High Wycombe, on the road to Speen from Hughenden Valley).

Features found in Pigotts Wood include sawpits, charcoal hearths, lynchets, boundary banks, iron bloomery, stone and chalk quarries.  Documentary evidence for this ancient wood goes back to the 16th century.  Use of Lidar images.

This popular one day course will include an illustrated talk, old maps, a guided woodland visit to see the many features found in Pigotts Wood, and a chance to explore the wood in groups.

Please bring:- Strong footwear and warm / wet weather clothing. Also a packed lunch (tea & coffee provided)
