Patrick McLoughlinThe Cabinet reshuffle yesterday has resulted in change at the top of the Department for Transport: Patrick McLoughlin, former Chief Whip, has taken over from Justine Greening as Secretary of State.

Mr McLoughlin has an interesting background. Born in Stafford, he is the son and grandson of coal miners and before becoming a Conservative MP he worked as a farm worker and a coal miner.
