The Red Lion pub in Britwell Salome near Watlington in Oxfordshire has won the 'Best Roast' category in the National Pub Food Challenge 2013 awards, organised by the Publican's Morning Advertiser.
The Red Lion is run by Andrew Hill and Eilidh Ferguson, who took over less than a year ago. It used to be called the Goose. The pork and beef used in their roast meals is locally sourced from Red Lion Farm opposite the pub.
"It has given everyone such a boost. As it's a trade award, it means that people in the industry will know about us so is great recognition of what we do," said Eilidh Ferguson.
