One of the Chilterns Conservation Board's longest-serving members, Cllr Alan Walters, has been awarded an MBE in the New Year's Honours List.
Cllr Walters, of South Bucks District Council, has served on the Board for over 10 years. He received the MBE for services to the community of Beaconsfield, where he has lived for many years.
Kath Daly, Acting Chief Officer of the Board, described the news of the honour as "fantastic and well-deserved".
In his working life Cllr Walters was Director of Human Resources for a large hospital trust. As a member of the Board he plays an active role in management issues and has strong interests in recreation and access and planning.
