800 training places provided

Wednesday 11 March 2015

The project's training programme has been extremely popular.  The training has been delivered by local experts and local training organisations including the Field Studies Council.  Most of the training days have combined classroom sessions with outdoor site visits to help attendees see the subject in the field, or should we say on the common!

Project Officer Rachel Sanderson said "The varied training has given attendees the knowledge, skills and confidence to empower them to more actively manage ‘their’ common - a great legacy for the Commons Project.  Our aim initially was to deliver 27 workshops.  I'm delighted to say that we've been able to meet the high demand for places by repeating the most popular workshops, such as the legislation which affects commons, and, in response to requests from the local community, we've also added workshops to the original programme."

Resources from the training workshops are available on the website.
