An application has been submitted to the Heritage Lottery Fund for just under £2million. If successful, the scheme will attract an additional £500,000 of matched funding and volunteer time valued at £327,000.
The outcome of the application will be known by January 2019. If successful, Chalk, Cherries and Chairs will start in spring 2019 with the recruitment of a team of delivery staff and will run for 5 years.
This Chalk, Cherries and Chairs major partnership has plans for 18 projects to deliver long-term, sustainable benefits for wildlife, historic environment, people & communities. The scheme will provide opportunities for people to get involved and volunteer; to increase and improve wildlife spaces; and for communities to learn, create and take action for natural and cultural heritage.
The development of this partnership scheme has been a major effort by many people over a long time, and the Chalk, Cherries and Chairs development team would like to thank everyone involved.
