What do you love about the Chilterns countryside - and can you say it in 140 characters? If the answer’s yes you could win a short break in one of the south east’s many beautiful landscapes.
Our Land is a campaign being launched during English Tourism Week (10 – 18 March) to promote visits to the Chilterns and eight other Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and National Parks in south east England. Supported by the Chilterns Conservation Board, it’s part of a project to encourage visitors to explore the distinctive character of these areas and boost local economies by spending money on accommodation and activities.
Visit the Our Land Facebook page or use the hashtag #loveourland (@ourlanduk) on Twitter and share what you love about the Chilterns, or maybe another favourite spot like the South Downs or the New Forest. You can also send in photos and video clips. You’ll be in with a chance to win a great prize, and your contribution will be added to a unique Experience Map highlighting everything’s that’s best about the south east’s countryside.
You can find out more about the Our Land project at www.our-land.co.uk where the Chilterns has its own page displaying the details of many local B&Bs, hotels, attractions and activity-providers who have already signed up. Funded by nearly £1 million from the UK Government and EU, Our Land provides free marketing to small tourism enterprises - click on the Message to Industry link on the Our Land homepage for more information.
