Councils seek judicial review of HS2

A group of 15 local authorities affected by the High Speed Rail 2 project are challenging the Government's proposals on a number of grounds, including alleging that the public consultation on the route of the new rail line was not carried out properly. They also claim that the decision to proceed further with the project was made without considering the full environmental impact of the route which crosses the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
